SUMMARY:Tech meets finance: newcomers in the financial ecosystem
DESCRIPTION:With the year 2020 dominated by Covid-19-related restrictions of physical interaction and an increasing relevance of technology and digital interaction for businesses and citizens\,  legislative initiatives by the European Commission aim at addressing digital transformations in Europe’s economy. Technology actors\, i.e. BigTech\, are expanding their reach from their core businesses into adjacent industry sectors. In turn\, the European market is increasingly facing questions of competition\, market conditions and available digital infrastructure. The financial sector is a frontrunner in the application of digital innovation to the benefit of customers and business operations. Consequently\, the financial ecosystem meets newcomers who – thanks to possible gatekeeper roles –carry significant changes into the known environment of business relations and regulatory framework. \nThe event is providing insights into how European banks\, regulators and BigTech companies are perceiving these changes. With the European Commission’s Digital Services Act coming up\, conversations will touch upon the role for new ex ante regulation and the protection of fair competition and innovation required for a prosperous Europe. \n\n\n\n Book now

SUMMARY:2020 Cybersecurity Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Cybersecurity Conference is the annual event on cybersecurity in the financial sector. Field experts from banks\, policymakers\, supervisors and the ICT security industry come together to discuss the rapidly evolving cyber trends and challenges with a specific focus on banking. \nConference aspires to maintain the European view of previous editions – especially at the beginning of the new legislative cycle\, with new faces and strategies in all major EU institutions. However\, this year we also seek to highlight the importance of linking European initiatives with global efforts – namely across the Atlantic – as alleviating fragmentation remains a pivotal challenge both within Europe and beyond. \nCyber risks are by nature borderless\, cross-sectoral\, cross-cultural. Similarly\, financial institutions offer their services across borders\, they are interlinked between them and with other providers and sectors\, and they are cross-cultural both in their employees and their customers. A holistic approach of cybersecurity and resilience is fundamental in tackling cyber attacks and in the Cybersecurity Conference we aim to explore challenges\, exchange best practices and discuss solutions. \n\nBook now

SUMMARY:European data economy & open finance: what does it all mean?
DESCRIPTION:This day is devoted to the European Data Economy and Open Finance. The European Commission\, through its Data Strategy\, has set a goal to build a Single Market for Data in Europe. It has also made fostering a data driven financial sector one of its priorities\, including a commitment to present a proposal for a new Open Finance Framework by mid-2022. These two initiatives are not mutually exclusive. \nDuring the day\, the sessions will focus on how these initiatives fit together\, first by looking at what role policymakers and stakeholders can play to increase data sharing in Europe\, particularly across sectors. The discussion will then zoom in on what is happening in the financial sector\, looking at a future EU open finance framework – the challenges and opportunities it could bring for firms and consumers\, and a discussion on what the foundation for such a framework could look like. \n\n \n \n Book now
